Premier Hispanic channel fills faith niche through fresh,
exclusive programming
LOS ANGELES (July 21, 2011) — They’re the largest minority
in the United States. In fact, according to the 2010 Census, there are an
astounding 50.5 million Hispanics in the U.S.—around 16.3 percent of the
total population. What’s more, survey after survey shows that faith plays a
crucial role in the lives of many Hispanic families.
For Cesar Español, program director for Enlace USA, the nation’s
premier Hispanic faith network, these facts add up to one thing: a massive
demographic primed for programming that is entertaining, inspirational, and
geared for the entire family.
“Since we launched Enlace USA nearly ten years ago, we’ve
found a constantly expanding group of Hispanic viewers across the nation who
are passionate and committed to their faith—and who absolutely love
Christian television,” said Español. “And we’ve taken great care to tailor our
24-hour programming to the needs of this unique American viewer niche.”
From church and ministry programs, to music, movies, kids
programs, and exclusive shows produced specifically for teens and young adults,
Enlace is geared to appeal to the differing broadcast needs of the Hispanic
community. “From day one our Enlace team has made the commitment to provide
Latino viewers with a wide range of shows the whole family will enjoy,” Español
emphasized.
That includes the recent launch of two of the most popular
ministry and talk programs on Christian TV today, which for the first time are
being broadcast to Spanish-language viewers exclusively through Enlace USA. “While
The 700 Club and The Way of the Master have been favorites on Christian television for
years,” noted Español, “they now available exclusively on Enlace as Club 700 Hoy and Los Pasos del Maestro. We couldn’t be prouder that Enlace is the only
channel bringing these impacting programs to the Hispanic community.”
Club 700 Hoy
On the air since 1966, The 700 Club is one of the longest running programs on Christian
television. Now this daily magazine-style talk and information show has
launched to the Hispanic community as Club 700 Hoy, exclusively on Enlace. With hosts Héctor Hernández
and Amarilis Rivera, Club 700 Hoy
brings Spanish speaking viewers a unique blend of relevant news, impacting
interviews, the latest music, moving personal stories, and practical daily
living segments—all in a format designed specifically for the unique
needs of the Hispanic community.
“This is one of the few programs I’ve seen that tackles the
social and spiritual issues common to Latinos in a way that gives practical
solutions and real hope,” said Español. “From relationships, marriage, and
parenting, to the problems that Hispanic individuals and families face every
day, Club 700 Hoy brings impacting
television for today’s Hispanic community.”
Los Pasos del Maestro
On the air since 2002, the popular Christian reality show The Way of the Master now comes to Hispanic viewers as Los Pasos
del Maestro, exclusively through Enlace
and the Enlace Juvenil youth
network. Each week hosts Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort teach viewers the secrets
for sharing their faith effectively with family, friends, and others, then take
to the streets in a non-scripted, live-action demonstration to show how its
done. “Los Pasos del Maestro is
destined to be a favorite with Enlace viewers.” Español said. “In fact, it’s
the kind of show that I think will impact entire neighborhoods and
communities.”
Jonas Gonzalez, president of Enlace, noted that Hispanics
have become one of the most valuable and important viewer segments among
Christian networks and programmers. In fact, he said, a recent survey showed
that nearly 40 percent of Hispanic viewers would watch the Enlace USA network
if given the choice. “We’ve put a lot of emphasis on constantly expanding our
schedule with the type of programming that is current and vital to Latino
viewers,” he said. “That’s why Enlace is the number one Hispanic Christian
network in the nation.”
