Music Video and Reality Network gets Thumbs Up from Parents Television Council
2011-04-26
It’s virtually unheard of in today’s television landscape. A channel programmed with music videos, reality shows and extreme sports receives the seal of approval from the Parents Television Council.
JCTV is filled with contemporary music videos, teen talk and reality shows, movies and extreme sports. According to the latest beta research, nearly one in five young adults 12-24 and adults 18-49 are very interested in watching it. As the only faith-based entertainment channel targeting young adults 13-29, JCTV fills a programming niche for younger audiences.
“JCTV was launched as a response to the millions of people who enjoy contemporary Christian music,” said Bob Higley, TBN’s Vice President for Cable Sales and Marketing, “its high energy format draws young adults, while also offering them a rare oasis of hope and inspiration. Statistically, we know that about one in three teens say their faith is important to them. JCTV is the only channel that consistently speaks to that substantial and unique demographic.”
When the Parents Television Council examined JCTV’s programming lineup, it awarded the entire network its coveted Entertainment Seal of Approval, a rare designation that only four other channels currently hold. Two of those networks—Smile of a Child and TBN—are also part of the TBN Network.
JCTV is currently airing on many major cable systems such as Comcast and Charter. It is also available nationwide on Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-verse and Sky Angel. TBN also broadcasts JCTV, along with its four other digital faith-based channels in 35 major U.S. markets.
